The World War II Freedom Fighters Organization of the Permian Basin are putting together a series of fund raising events for a very great cause. They are raising money to send all World War II Veterans from the Permian Basin to visit the WWII War Memorial in Washington D.C. This trip will be free of charge to all WWII Veterans. If you are a WWII Veteran and would like more information about this trip you can go to www.wwiifreedom1.org or call Veteran's Services at 432-498-4015. We want to encourage any and all WWII Veterans to get in touch with this group so you can make the trip. The 1st visit is scheduled for September 2008. The Veterans will be accompanied by Youth from ECISD and the Ector County Youth Center. Anyone can make the trip but will have to cover their own costs except WWII Vet's. Please be sure to keep checking the WWII Freedom1.org website for fund raising times and dates.

Luke Wells will be selling Raffle tickets to support The World War II Freedom Fighters. You can purchase a $5 ticket for a chance to win a Nintendo Wii and the new game Wii Fit; or a $10 ticket for a chance to win a 4 day trip (hotel & airfare) to Cancun, Mexico. And remember that every ticket you purchase will help this organization reach its fund raising goals.

Upcoming Events

Simple Assistance is a community outreach program which  provides volunteer services for LCRL members and friends of members of our church who cannot do certain tasks.

The services include, but are not limited to, non-electrical handyman projects, errands, grocery shopping, providing rides to church services and doctor appointments, certain household tasks, tutoring for students, and taking communion to those who cannot attend church.  In addition, arrangements may be made with the youth group for mowing lawns and others jobs for which the youth can be paid.

Many of our church members have been sharing their time and talents in this way for years, but the network includes some outside our church membership.  Those needing assistance may call Dolly Harrold at 362-5305.

Worship is at 10:15 a.m. each Sunday morning and  we have regular liturgy in a predominantly traditional manner using Lutheran Book of Worship. We normally have short children’s sermon/moment and partake of communion on a weekly basis.

Sunday School starts at 9:00 a.m. every Sunday morning.
